Photos? Why are there no photos of me with the kids?
Because my husband is hopeless with the camera, and every time that he does take one with me in it, he seems to forget there is a zoom button, and you don't have to take in every single aspect of the background. It is much better to use the optical zoom, rather than the digital zoom, dear.

Some birthday pics
I killed it, apparently...
The Land Rover that is!
Yippee (well, sort of, it is a rather expensive thing to do - kill the car that is).
Ah well, it was a piece of crap anyway.

Slacko that's me
I have been very slack with the blog situation. However, after going out to dinner on Friday night with a group of old friends, I have become all inspired to update everything :)
It has been same old shit around here to be honest. Not much time to myself, and I tell you I am sick to death of just dashing upstairs to go to the toilet, and hearing "Mummy, where are you". Oh, FFS, I am just having a crap darling child.
We celebrated Miss E turning 6. Being the caring mother that I am, we celebrated with a trip to the dentist. Oh how lovely am I? Also took Master Middle as well for his first ever check up. Miss E needed to have an x-ray to find out why the top tooth is not erupting. All is good though thank goodness. It looks as though it is about to break through apparently, it has taken nearly 12 weeks though, hence the precautionary x-ray.

I found it!
My log in details for my bog! Yippee.
Now I can keep you all up to date again.
A note to mother - I managed "the talk" and may have shed some new light on the job situation which has reversed his thinking... keep your fingers crossed.

A Big Week
Phew, where to start?
Wednesday was my interview, and to say I was nervous is a huge understatement! I couldn't get a coherent sentence out for the first few minutes (or so it seemed). I am still wavering as to how it all went. Sometimes I think it was great, and others I think it was really bad. Only time will tell though, and the final verdict will be known by Thursday. I am doing some positive visioning though, and imagining receiving the good news phonecall :)
Friday evening marked the end of term disco at Emily's school. Being the good mummy that I am, took her along, as well as her friend Amelie whose mum can't take her to night time functions. The girls had a great time. Not much dancing, but a lot of lolly eating and running around was done. Emily's boyfriend was there and showed her sme affection by trying to shoot her with a stick!
The weekend was rather busy. We went out to Ruth's house at Karalee for a Thomson/SS family BBq to farewell Janet T who is off to the UK with her man. She is very excited about it all and I am sure they will enjoy themselves. I am a bit cranky that we won't get to go to Cairns next year though, but she has promised to host the 2013 reunion (what the? - who thinks that far ahead?) The children, as usual, outdid themselves in making others think that we don't feed them. The do looked starved though, don't they? Hahah. On the way home Emily and Lachlan fell asleep, and Benji who is the one that really needed to sleep stayed wide awake! Typical.
Sunday was a nice quiet morning. Then I took Emily and Lachlan to a birthday party (one of Lachie's friends) titled - Wil's Wonderful Wildlife party. Hhhmmm. Didn't sound too good to me, and I just knew with a name like that, there were going to be some "creatures". Yup, I was proved right. first out of the magical box was a Magnificent Green Tree Frog. Pretty harmless really, and he was kept in a box as apparently it hurts the frogs if adults touch them. Next came a couple of lizards, one was a Blue Tongue, and the other I can't remember, excet that it was pretty damn ugly. Next came a turtle, so cute, then a baby turtle that was 3 months old - even cuter. EEk, next was something I'd rather not see again - a crocodile! Obviously was very small, but still extremely UGLY. I had a touch of it, and it was soft! But of course they toughen up as they get older. OK, next (mum, you might want to cover your eyes while you read this - hahahaha ;) ) It was a snake. Oh SHIT. It was a little one, I can't even remember what sort it was, but not poisonous. I kept thinking that I couldn't freak because my children were there. I was even very brave and touched the bloody thing. It felt like a hard boiled egg. EEEwwwww. Never again, but let me say that i was very proud of myself! She then put that snake away and brought out another one - a python. Oh yuck, as she was bringing it closer to us, I could feel my heart rate rising, and beads of sweat starting. I managed to manouvere myself away from it and went and stood somewhere else. It was HIDEOUS and I hope I never, ever see one again. I tried to appear calm to Emily and Lachlan and not freak out because they wanted to touch it (which they did). So, I didn't create a scene, and even managed to touch one of my biggest fears.
What the children have been up to for the past week or two:
Emily: Can now skip like a pro. It was amazing, one day she couldn't do it, the next day it all just clicked. So now, if you can't find her, she will be outside skipping! She has also learnt to tie her own shoelaces - hip, hip hooray!
Lachlan: Has learnt something not very nice at daycare - he tells me tht he doesn't like me :( . We also had a check up with his paediatrician this morning and everything is great. He has had a bit of a growth spurt over the past 10 weeks since the last appointment and has grown 3cm. We still have to keep a close eye on his wee, specially after his bout of tonsillitis a few weeks ago.
Benji: The little rat bag. Is going through a case of the night time wake-ups at the moment and I am not impressed. His speech is continuing to amaze us, especially as our last "toddler" was a bit slow on the uptake speech-wise. He would easily be saying more than the 50 words the experts say they should have by the time they are two. His two favourite words are No and Don't. Hahahaha.
So, that's all from here. Best get started on some dinner now.
